Green Goodness – get your greens into the ground!

*nom nom nom* it’s fantastic having a mini snack bar in the back yard! Eat lettuce, kale, and spinach for months in a variety of tossed salads (next to a juicy, grilled ribeye, of course).
It is not too late to plant, get em in the soil now! Or next week. Er, whenever… All three are super easy to grow. Sow your seeds directly into the soil and you’ll see little baby sprouts within days. All are able to grow in full sun or partial shade, although partial shade may be better during the hottest months.

  1. I’m planning on growing some salad in hanging baskets with my toddler. I’ve found some seedballs she should be able to handle easily which look as though they have a nice mix of crops. I think kale was one of them.

    1. That is a great idea! I have an empty hanging basket and some extra seeds, I may just have to steal your idea. My 3 year old loves to nibble on the greens… she’s worse than the rabbits!
