Woke up at 4am to SNOW! Boo. I was enjoying the shorts and t-shirt weather lately.
The one day I do not cover my little victory garden it decides to snow. Of course. With that being on my mind, I tossed and turned for an hour before giving up and heading downstairs to putter around on the internet. And so here I am, sipping on a juice box, waiting for the sun to come up. Fortunately, the internet tells me I’m in the clear, all of my carefully selected veggies are a-okay with low temps and a hard freeze.
Spinach, kale, lettuce, radish, peas , garlic – all good. I read that kale has improved sweetness after a frost, so that’s pretty cool. I’m just learning things as I go. Here is a list of some frost-resistant veggies from a person who knows way more about this stuff than me: 10 Vegetables That Are More Cold Hardy Than Kale
Chewy feels about the same as me, we do not enjoy cold weather. Two steps onto the deck was about enough for him.
