What a fun and easy project! I just love seeing birds galore in front of my downstairs windows. How to draw them to my home/yard inexpensively and tastefully? Try making your own teacup bird feeders!
- Head to your local thrift store and pick out a few matching tea or coffee cups, saucers, and spoons.
- Visit a nearby craft or home improvement store and grab a tube of E-6000 adhesive. Also grab some thin link chain or jute twine.
- Glue teacup and spoon to saucer. Keep in mind your feeder will be hanging from the spoon and cup handle, so plan/balance accordingly. You may need something heavy to keep the cup in place. Dry at least 48 hours! I made the mistake of rushing on my first feeder. I went outside the following morning and found the cup swinging where I hung it and the saucer smashed on the deck.
- Once dry, tie and/or glue your twine around the overhanging spoon and cup handle. Voila!
I made lots of these for Christmas gifts and everyone loved em! Here are a couple more I remembered to snap photos of.
