Easy Project: Teacup Birdfeeder

What a fun and easy project! I just love seeing birds galore in front of my downstairs windows. How to draw them to my home/yard inexpensively and tastefully? Try making your own teacup bird feeders!

  1. Head to your local thrift store and pick out a few matching tea or coffee cups, saucers, and spoons.
  2. Visit a nearby craft or home improvement store and grab a tube of E-6000 adhesive. Also grab some thin link chain or jute twine.
  3. Glue teacup and spoon to saucer. Keep in mind your feeder will be hanging from the spoon and cup handle, so plan/balance accordingly. You may need something heavy to keep the cup in place. Dry at least 48 hours! I made the mistake of rushing on my first feeder. I went outside the following morning and found the cup swinging where I hung it and the saucer smashed on the deck.
  4. Once dry, tie and/or glue your twine around the overhanging spoon and cup handle. Voila!

I made lots of these for Christmas gifts and everyone loved em! Here are a couple more I remembered to snap photos of.
